As Chief HR Officer for the Commercial Business, 2020 has been one of the most exciting years in Matt’s extensive career.

Matt is a CHRO with a passion for modernising the employee experience and digital innovation. He is currently the HR Vice President for Royal Dutch Shell’s Global Commercial businesses. The Shell Global Commercial businesses are market leaders in their sectors with 8,000 employees and 800,000 frontline colleagues. The end-to-end business has extensive commercial activities across 60+ markets and operates 40 plants, 100 distribution facilities, 3 shared business service centres, 4 technology centres and digital incubators.
Matt started his career with Accenture in Human Performance and Change Management. He subsequently held senior HR roles with Merck, one of the world’s leading health care providers. He has extensive cross-industry and global experience.
Throughout his career, he has lived and worked in Australia, Canada, U.S, Netherlands, U.K and is currently based in Singapore. Most importantly, Matt is a proud father to two daughters and spends his weekends coaching their Australian Football and Netball teams.
