From Crisis Management to Culture Change with Alex Fergus

With 18,000 colleagues around the globe, Alex Fergus, Chief HR Officer of Refinitiv, has been managing the COVID-19 crisis since its first outbreak in Asia with the support of his colleagues in Hong Kong and China.
As the Executive Sponsor for this crisis, Alex has been responsible for the enormous task of transitioning the whole organisation into a virtual operating environment.

Alex Fergus is the Chief People Officer at Refinitiv, leading the 350+ strong Human Resources team which provides HR leadership and support to successfully deliver the strategy, culture and growth priorities of the business.
Prior to Refinitiv, Alex led the Human Resources team for the Financial & Risk business division of Thomson Reuters since December 2011. Before that he led the HR function for the Governance, Risk & Compliance business where he helped establish a new, fast-growing business unit within Thomson Reuters.
Alex holds a Master’s degree in Change Agent Skills and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. He is based in London, UK.
